Year after year, I push myself to the limit in pursuit of becoming the best version of myself. As athletes, we are obligated to adopt a mindset focused on personal growth and making decisions that give us the greatest chance for victory and success.
Too often, athletes are viewed as self-centered, solely focused on their own goals. It is true that it comes much more easy to give critique or be silent than to praise succes. Therefore we sometimes forget the profound impact we can have on others. It’s our responsibility to lead by example—to celebrate the triumphs and openly share the struggles, no matter what the response is.
The beauty of this approach is that when we lead with authenticity, others are encouraged to do the same. They motivate us in return and provide support when we need it most. Lately I noticed in different aspects of my life. From our youngest athletes in the club that motivate each other to friends that show appreciation and support.
We are all individuals, and we should all make the best choices for ourselves. But it’s equally important to share the experiences and lessons we’ve learned along the way.
